How I met my husband..

We met through a mutual friend. This friend knew me since I was younger and he was also friends with my husband’s older brothers. So, when I was a freshman I got back in contact with him (the mutual friend) and we started hanging out. We went to Birthday Bash and our friend introduced us to each other. He had to bend down and kiss me on my cheek (he’s 6’5”, I’m 5’4”). We were both so nervous that we kinda hit each other’s cheek hard lol. Anyway, I kept staring at him cuz I was like, “dude this guy is huge.” :P After that, we walked away and I was sitting on the lawn listening to the music but I kept thinking about him. 

When the concert was done and we were driving home, I kept asking our friend questions about him. My husband was working on the Big Island at that time, so a few days after the concert he went back. I was bummed. For three months I kept bugging our friend and asking question about my husband. I talked to him once on the phone but got shy and gave the phone to our friend. Finally in October 2004, my husband’s nephew was having his 1st birthday party and our friend was invited. Knowing my husband would be there, our friend brought me with him. I was so excited. Haha. 

I was being shy that whole night but we kept staring at each other! It was like in the movies.. “couldn’t take our eyes off each other” kind of a thing. After the party the guys went to drink at my husband’s cousin’s house and that’s when we first talked. He was so mellow and it was cute how he was acting. We took our friends truck and drove by Waiau and were talking. When I was leaving he asked for my number and I made sure I got his! lol. I needed to make sure I would talk to him. :P 

I couldn’t sleep that night and so I called him 7 am the next morning. We pretty much talked the whole day and the next night he asked me out :D We’ve been stuck together ever since. Two months later I was pregnant with Tayven.. BUT that’s another story for another time. :)
