He did act shy and kinda silly. When they would ask him questions he would look at me. He knew a lot of the things they tested him on. He only got a few things wrong. There were five categories he was tested on. It was cognitive, communication, motor skills, adaptive, and personal/social. He answered questions I didn’t even think he would answer. Like the lady asked him “Tayven if you were playing with a friend and she broke her leg, what would you do?” He said” tell somebody” Then she asked him “If a man said he has candy and tells you to come in his car, would you go with him” He said “no” while shaking his head :D Oh then she asked “If you were at a friends house playing and you didn’t want to play anymore what would you do?” He said “not play anymore” ! LOL duh? :P
He is writing at 7 or 8 year old level. The lady was surprised and called the manager over to ask if she should keep going hehe. I was like oh no! now you’re not going to get in for free :P but it’s ok I was proud of him. They said they would let me know and give me a call next week. I'm hoping they call tomorrow. It was overall a great experience because I found areas where he needs improvement and it was also nice to watch and see him put to use everything I taught him
If he passed it and I have to pay I don't think I'll send him because like Kili said, I've been teaching him everything he knows and he said I can teach him what they will without paying lol. I was doing it more for the social interaction but I don't know yet. We'll see.

It sounds like your already doing a great job teaching him, but I do know how nice it is to get that little break when he's at school so I hope he gets in free! Sept Ill have 2 kids in pre-school and be home with just Javier.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I don't want to send him to school for a break.. it's because of the social interaction. He needs to be around kids his age and he wants to go. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have sent Caelyn to pre-school for $50 a month! He had to get tested for it? I know I'm way behind on these posts, but I figured I'd start reading from the beginning :)
