Clear Head.

Things are hard for us. Yes, they are. BUT, I know there are people out there who have it a million times worse. I have some mommy friends who are going through health issues right now. So, after my last post I felt bad that I was complaining about car troubles.

But then I was thinking about it.. it’s not JUST car troubles. It’s being car-less AGAIN. It’s being car-less after over a year of being car-less. It’s being car-less after a year of relying on people to just go to the store for groceries. It means being car-less in a town where there is no bus system, no taxi service (not that we could afford to keep taking the taxi anyway), and a town where we have no family to say, “hey can you take us to the store real quick?”
It’s about my husband not having a ride to work and then possibly losing his job!
So yes, people have it a million times worse but that doesn’t mean my problems are nothing. They are still hard for me at this moment.
I do know that with God things will work out. They always do eventually. I just hope they work out fast. “/

So back to square one it is...

I can’t believe this.. really, I can’t. It’s like we don’t have it hard enough as is.

The two of us both in school, him working on top of that, both being away from home and family, and many other little inconveniences. And now on top of all of that, no mode of transportation.

We took it to the shop and they ran diagnostic testing on it. We need a new transmission which will cost us the same amount we paid for the car in the first place. Something we definitely can’t afford.
I really don’t know what we are going to do. I feel like just giving up everything and moving back home. Although I know after I calm down and think about everything, it’s probably not going to be worth it to move home because everything there is a lot more expensive than here. Ugh.. :’(

I really can't decide....

If you didn't already know, we have been in need of a car for over a year. We now have some money to actually get one, so we have been on a hunt. Last weekend we drove up to Provo in search of one. We stopped at a dealership to see if they had any used cars in our price range, but they didn't.  The salesman took down our name and number and said he'll call us if something comes in.  Well, he called tonight.

They have a car. I won't go into details about what type or the price but it is a good deal. We just need to see it and see how we all fit, etc. Since, we don't have a car and have to borrow a ride to go up there, we told him the earliest we could go see it would be on Monday. He said that because the car is in really great shape for the price, someone would most likely buy it by then. He said we could put $100 down to hold it. But, (there's always a dang but!) the $100 was non-refundable. So, if we don't like the car for some reason, they would hold the $100 until they get another car in our price range...

The thing is, if we get this car we won't have much money left. Therefore, not enough money to buy our tickets to go home. I promised my grandpa who just had his 7th or 8th heart surgery that I would be there to see him for Christmas. I told my mom and my husband that if I didn't go I will probably go into a depression and then my mom said she will be terminally ill. She said her aches, pains, and some other private issues are just getting worse.

If we don't get this car, we will have to continue to ask for a ride or bug our Bishop for the next almost 5 months. Something we do not want to do! I really don''t know what to do... :(

On my mind this week.

10 things on my mind this week.. in no particular order.

1. Looking for a car to buy. Who would have thought it would be SO HARD to find a decent car that runs with no mechanical problem and is in our price range? It is beyond frustrating and we are desperate.

2. Finding a washer/dryer. We have so much dirty laundry; it's not even funny. Having to get a ride and have money to get quarters, having to drag my kids with me to wash clothes, and with 5 of us, I can just never keep up. It's ridiculous.

3. Going home to Hawaii to visit! I just keep thinking about going back and hoping the weeks will just fly on by. I can't wait for so many things.

4. Thanksgiving.. wondering if we will celebrate or not.

5. Art and Crafts to do with the boys. I bought some finger paint, so I think we will be doing that this week.. Well, if I can get most of my school work squared away.

6. Crochet! I have a bunch of projects I am working on and projects I want to work on. hehe

7. Homework/School. I have papers to write, peer reviews to do, along with discussions and other assignments. I hate having homework always on the back of my mind when I'm trying to do family things and housework. It stresses me out.

8. Finding our cell phone. Ugh. :( I wish it would just pop up.

9. Errands I need to run and paperwork I have to fill out. Stuff for Tay's school, for hubby's school, and for the boys' doctor.

10. How fast my boys are growing :(

Another Update!

We are finally all moved in to the new apartment and the old one is all clean. Moving was so stressful. My husband had moved all the big, heavy things and I pretty much had to move everything else because he is at school during the day and then he has tutoring in the evening. He also hurt his ankle/achilles (he doesn't know which) so walking to school, back home, and then up and down the stairs already caused him enough pain.  Trying to move things over while keeping an eye on the 3 kids (more like get them to stay in the new apartment) was simply not simple. On top of moving, I had homework and papers to write.  Also, as if that wasn't enough, my boys were sick while we were moving. Trenton vomited eight times on the day we moved most of the things over. I almost had a breakdown and gave up. Just thinking and writing about it makes me stressed out.

Anyway, I'm glad that is over.

Tayven is still in school and loves it. He brought home his school pictures.. and guess what? He didn't smile! We practiced that morning! This child of mine!! It's okay though; he still looks handsome. :) I need to get them sent out to my mom so she can hand them out to my our family back home.

My kids are crazy. With winter coming along (it snowed yesterday, ugh) they will be cooped up in this house AGAIN and it sucks. Winter is depressing except for Christmas. Trenton is talking lots and just being his naughty 2-year-old self.  Titan is starting to learn to walk. So far, he has taken 2 steps. He is still a bit scared to stand so he'll stand for a few seconds and then slowly sit back onto his butt.

We are looking for a car to buy. I've had no luck on KSL because all the cars in our price range, so far, either have a mechanical problem or a mileage of 170,000 and up. I really hope we can find something... We just need something that runs and will be safe during winter. I'll keep praying that something comes along. I am beyond tired of asking people for a ride. The past few weeks, we've been walking to Kent's but now the good ol' winter is here we can't do that anymore. So, if you are in Utah or know someone who is, please keep an eye for cars for sale! =)
