Family & Food + My Birthday part II

After picking up our food from Applebee's I HAD to have Jamba Juice. I haven't been to Jamba Juice since before we left Hawaii. So, I got me a Peanut Butter Moo'd, which is the only thing I get from there lol.
Then we stopped at 711 to grab some shrimp chips and Hawaiian Sun juice.

When we got to 711, we grabbed the juice but couldn't find the shrimp chips. When we got to the register, I asked the guy cashier if they had run out of the shrimp chips and he said no "the Hawaii section was in the back." So, I walked behind the cashier area and OMG I was ecstatic! They had everything I've been craving since we moved here except for teri patties. They had mochi crunch, li hing mui candies, the Hawaii diamond crackers, laulau. kalua pig, manapua, portuguese sausage, and redondo's red hot dogs!!! That made my night! We landed up going back to the motel, working on some homework, watching TV, and then going to bed.

This morning we checked out, went to 711 and grabbed some Hawaii grindz!

Then we drove back home.
Just because.. here are some pictures of the boys in the hotel room.

Dreams and Reality

“I want to become an actress, move to New York, star in a musical, make it onto the big screen, and become famous.” “I want to be a scientist and find cures for diseases”

These are dreams that some people have. A lot of people, if not all, have dreams. Me? No, not really.
Sure, when I was little I wanted to grow up and be a teacher or a doctor, but I also wanted to be a mother even more.

Now though, I am so very realistic. Too realistic to where I don’t even bother to dream big. My “dream” is to one day own a house and for us to open up a family restaurant. Not too farfetched, right? Pretty possible and attainable, right?
When people are asked, “What is your dream car?” They may say, “A Cadillac Escalade, with chrome rims, decked out sound system, etc.” When I am asked the same question, I say, “one that will fit my family, runs well, and is good on gas.” See, realistic right?

Most likely the reason for being so realistic is living a life where I’ve always been struggling. Pretty much my whole life we’ve been lower class, borderline poverty, and at one point even houseless. Well, there was one point when we were middle class when my mom was married to my ex-stepdad. Anyway, I know that certain things are just unattainable and nearly impossible, especially with the economy the way it is. So, instead of setting myself up for disappointment, I stick to reality and things I know can be accomplished.

Titan is unique.

Of course all of my kids are unique, but compared to his brothers he has quite a few differences.

  1. He’s the only one we tried/planned for.
  2. He’s the only one conceived in wedlock. (he was conceived right after we got married (a couple days after). Although we didn’t really have a honeymoon, he was our “honeymoon baby.”
  3. He’s the only one not born in Hawaii and born in Utah (so far).
  4. He’s the only one who was breastfed past 2 weeks postpartum.
  5. He’s the only one who has not met my family (yet).
This is random and I was just thinking about this when I was laying in bed this morning.

I really can't decide....

If you didn't already know, we have been in need of a car for over a year. We now have some money to actually get one, so we have been on a hunt. Last weekend we drove up to Provo in search of one. We stopped at a dealership to see if they had any used cars in our price range, but they didn't.  The salesman took down our name and number and said he'll call us if something comes in.  Well, he called tonight.

They have a car. I won't go into details about what type or the price but it is a good deal. We just need to see it and see how we all fit, etc. Since, we don't have a car and have to borrow a ride to go up there, we told him the earliest we could go see it would be on Monday. He said that because the car is in really great shape for the price, someone would most likely buy it by then. He said we could put $100 down to hold it. But, (there's always a dang but!) the $100 was non-refundable. So, if we don't like the car for some reason, they would hold the $100 until they get another car in our price range...

The thing is, if we get this car we won't have much money left. Therefore, not enough money to buy our tickets to go home. I promised my grandpa who just had his 7th or 8th heart surgery that I would be there to see him for Christmas. I told my mom and my husband that if I didn't go I will probably go into a depression and then my mom said she will be terminally ill. She said her aches, pains, and some other private issues are just getting worse.

If we don't get this car, we will have to continue to ask for a ride or bug our Bishop for the next almost 5 months. Something we do not want to do! I really don''t know what to do... :(

On my mind this week.

10 things on my mind this week.. in no particular order.

1. Looking for a car to buy. Who would have thought it would be SO HARD to find a decent car that runs with no mechanical problem and is in our price range? It is beyond frustrating and we are desperate.

2. Finding a washer/dryer. We have so much dirty laundry; it's not even funny. Having to get a ride and have money to get quarters, having to drag my kids with me to wash clothes, and with 5 of us, I can just never keep up. It's ridiculous.

3. Going home to Hawaii to visit! I just keep thinking about going back and hoping the weeks will just fly on by. I can't wait for so many things.

4. Thanksgiving.. wondering if we will celebrate or not.

5. Art and Crafts to do with the boys. I bought some finger paint, so I think we will be doing that this week.. Well, if I can get most of my school work squared away.

6. Crochet! I have a bunch of projects I am working on and projects I want to work on. hehe

7. Homework/School. I have papers to write, peer reviews to do, along with discussions and other assignments. I hate having homework always on the back of my mind when I'm trying to do family things and housework. It stresses me out.

8. Finding our cell phone. Ugh. :( I wish it would just pop up.

9. Errands I need to run and paperwork I have to fill out. Stuff for Tay's school, for hubby's school, and for the boys' doctor.

10. How fast my boys are growing :(

Just a ramble

I haven't been blogging much lately. One, because I have been doing school work, spending time with the boys, and getting other things done. Two, I haven't had much exciting things to blog about.

I'll just talk about some things that's been going on and about the boys-- of course. :)

The hubby and I have been talking and I'm hoping to be able to get the money to go back home and visit sometime before Titan's first birthday. I've been looking around at plane tickets and prices. I really want everyone to meet Titan and get to see Tay and Trent.

Right now, school isn't too stressful. I have two classes. I have keyboarding which is really easy and kinda fun. I also have Math which is just refreshing our memory so it's not too bad so far. I'm sure it'll get harder as the weeks go on.

My boys seriously amaze me. Tayven is learning to read, write, and spell. He's been spelling words like hot, pot, pan, bat, rat, pig, hit, etc. The other night he spelled robot on his own by sounding it out! He loves school! Last week he had show and tell. He took one of his favorite books, "Green Eggs and Ham." We had to give the class three clues so together we chose:
1. my mommy and I share this together every night
2. it's a rectangle shape
3. it goes on a shelf (he came up with this on his own)

Trenton has been going to the toilet by himself, sometimes he just wants me or Tayven to turn on the light for him lol. He is also talking in sentences more. He can put his puzzles together and is learning his colors and to count to 5.

Titan is crawling everywhere and cruising all the furniture in the house. He likes when I hold onto his hands and he walks everywhere. He turned 8 months old almost a week ago. He amazes me because when Tay and Trent are playing in their room, he crawls over there and will sit there playing with his brothers and the toys. I don't know what 8 month old does that? If he wants me or is hungry, he'll just crawl over to me. He's so laid back and mellow!

They are a bunch of loving wild boys! I love seeing them interact with each other. Tayven is a GREAT big brother to both of them(when he's not hitting or fighting with Trenton) and Trent is great with Titan for the most part (sometimes he doesn't pay attention and hits or steps on Titan's fingers/foot or falls over him). I love my boys! :D

Doctor's appt. for Titan & Trenton

On Tuesday I took Titan and Trenton to the doctor's.

Titan was 20 lbs and 28 in, which placed him in the 93% for both height and weight. He got his shots, and has been fighting off a fever since Tuesday. He's a lot better than yesterday though.

Trenton was 38 1/2 lbs. and 37 1/2 in., which put him in the 100% for weight and 95% for height. He didn;t get shots because I have to have their shot records faxed here from Hawaii.

Both of them are on target for milestones!

Homesick.

We have been here in Utah for a year now, and I have never felt so homesick as I do now.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of moving back home.

I get jealous and upset when I read about these family get-togethers that friends on Facebook are having or when I see pictures. I shouldn't feel that way, but I do. I can't help it.

It truly sucks not being near family. It sucks to talk to my mom on the phone when she's at my aunty's house with our family. Tayven tells me he wants to go back home too. My mother-in-law keeps telling us to move back.

I know we will go back eventually but the Hubby will be doing this fall semester here. He also has a lot of check ups for his eye. I guess I just have to continue "hanging in there" until this semester is over and then see what we will do from there.

Yesterday was a crazy day!

It was the day of my husband's surgery.

We got up at 5:45 am and got ready. Reisa and Devon got here and I told them where everything was, what to do, etc. Then our ride got here and we left at about 6:45. Got to Provo at 8am, checked in, and then he got prepped in the pre-op. Surgery started at around 10:30. Claudia, Titan, and I had breakfast, I finally got to look at D.I., and then we stopped at Pet Smart. It was nice to be in a city!! lol

I kept thinking about the boys all day; hoping they weren't driving Reisa and Devon crazy.

When we got back to the surgical center, The doctor came out and said the surgery went well. However, he said that he had to see him again at 5pm. I was stressing because I had the boys at home and would have been gone pretty much all day. "/ I talked to Reisa and her job let her get off so she was able to watch them.. I was so glad and that was one less thing to worry about. If we left and didn't stay until 5, then we would have had to find a ride back up there on Saturday.

Anyway, so I finally got to see him. Then he was able to get his IV out, change his clothes, and then we could leave. We ate lunch at L & L, and we saw a guy that the hubby knew from back home. I heard pidgin and was like oh wow makes me feel at home. :P Then he kept looking at my hubby and finally they shook hands and were talking.

Then we went to the eye clinic to see the doctor. He said hubby's eye looks great and gave him some drops. As we were leaving, a guy nurse asked hubby what his last name was. Come to find out, that guy has family in Maui but grew up in Provo. He had a Hawaiian first name and is going to be leaving to work at Waianae Comp lol. It was crazy.

After we left the clinic, we stopped at Walmart to pick up his pain meds. There was a complication and the Pharmacy was busy so we were there for like 45 minutes more. At the point we just wanted to get home to the boys already. Then we were off to head back home. We finally arrived at around 8pm. Man, it was a long day!!!

The boys acted weird when we got home. They weren't excited; they just smiled but were acting silly. Then Trenton started being a brat and whining. I guess it was his way of getting our attention. I think he was mad that we left him and he woke up to us being gone. "/ The hubby went to sleep and I tended to the boys. Then I finally got to catch up on sleep!
